Yeah…it’s Tuesday…but I’m going to post about this past weekend. (Nothing terribly exciting has happened yet this week.) Friday night I surprised Jared with a date night….I made yummy food and took him to a movie here in town. Simple…yes…but still a lot of fun. It’s easy to get in a “no more dates” rut when you’re married…and to just not go out and do the silly little things you used to do when you’re dating. We try to do something every week…whether it’s little or big…for just the two of us. It helps to remind us of the reasons we fell in love…and all of the sappy stuff. Saturday I had a hair cut at Jim’s…always a fun time. Went shopping at Wal-Mart for groceries. It was raining cats and dogs…so getting everything into the car was interesting. We cooked up pizza that night and just stayed home and watched rented movies. The two choices of the night were Little Miss Sunshine and Flags of our Fathers. Both were great…in completely different ways. Sunday I had a college fair, so I didn’t get to go to church. I did, however, get to bring home pizza for Jared from our favorite pizza place….Papa John’s. I know Papa’s isn’t fancy…but we don’t have one close to Greenville…only a few in St. Louis. It was soooo good! We actually rented another movie on Sunday night too…Click. It was really cute…but then again…I love most movies by Adam Sandler. (Nothing will ever be as good as Billy Madison though!) Anyway…that pretty much sums it up. The work week’s going by little by little…and I’ve got much to do. Adios!

My dear, precious cold…
Why are you still with me, after all of this time?
I don’t like you….and I’m pretty sure you don’t like me.
Let’s part ways.
You keep me up at night coughing….
and you keep me from making lengthy phone calls at work.
You make me spend much money on Kleenex…
as well as cough drops and Vic’s Shower Soothers.
Go away cold….go away!
So yeah…not much has happened this week. I’ve had a cold/flu since Valentine’s Day…and I’m anxiously awaiting its departure! As I write, I’m preparing a delicious meal for the hubby and I. Yummy pork chop casserole, home grown sweet corn, and crescent rolls. (Oreo pudding for after!) We’re going to see a movie afterwords…Reno 911…Jared’s pick. We’ll see how that goes! Anyway…I at least wanted to make a quick update…to show that I’m not dead. (Although I feel like it!)

I love my kitties…but seriously…they’ve been crazy-go-nuts lately. Every morning they wake us up around 6:00 a.m. I’m not sure if they want food or what…but they walk all over us and bite our noses until we wake up. Last night Elly actually crawled under the blankets and slept there for a good while. Max just sleeps at the foot of the bed until you accidentally kick him. We should probably just make them sleep downstairs, but they’re so warm! They’ve also been hiding lots of things lately…usually in our shoes. This morning I found a couple of my cake-decorating tips in Jared’s shoes. Yesterday I found the top of a glass jar in my tennis shoes. Last night while we were at Bible Study…the cats found some streamers in the guest room, and now we have blue streamers all over the house. (Covered in cat slobber none-the-less.) Anyway…my cats are nuts…but I sure do love them!

Yesterday we went to the Murphy’s for the 2nd annual BBQ Superbowl party. We went to church on Saturday night this week, so that Rick and Jared could get up early on Sunday to smoke the meat all morning. I baked and frosted cookies all morning…that’s my tradition now I guess. (I make cookie trays…I must be turning into my mother…which I’m completely ok with!) Anyway, I went over for lunch and helped Chrissy decorate and get the house ready. I’m not really a football fan, but I acutally sat and watched the entire game…including commercials and fabulous half-time show. (Prince is still awesome!) I think I sat and watched the whole thing because I ate so much food…that the thought of getting up was tiring enough. I don’t know what Jared did to me…but I love BBQ. I used to hate it when I was younger, but now I seriously can’t get enough of that saucy meat. Every vacation we go on…we try to find new BBQ joints to eat at. Anyway….it was a fun night….and now I need to get back to work. Gotta gear myself up for the tour I need to do this afternoon. Tours in this weather are the worst!

Ok…so it’s been forever and a day since I’ve posted…and today that changes. Life’s been pretty busy with work…and work’s finally calming down for a few months.
So either way…my blog and I are back….
