Happy New Year

January 2nd, 2007

After an amazing Christmas break…we’re finally back home in Greenville. I should probably be cleaning our house…but we’re enjoying some lazy time here in the basement. Jared’s watching silly movies online and I’m watching HGTV. We had a great Christmas this year. So many things to be thankful for! We were able to stay with our family for a week straight…which we always love. We love being at our own home…but we’ll take family any day!

So here’s a rundown of our super holiday…

-New Ipods (Jared and I got them for each other…unknowingly…it was great!)
-New bedroom furniture (finally…a headboard and a footboard!)
-New basement freezer…yay for my new deep freeze! (Stocked full of food too…best gift ever!)
-New exercise machine for the basement…time to get back in shape!
-Lots of candles
-New kitchen gadgets
-New Christmas decorations….which I always love! (I’d decorate for Christmas all year long if I could!)
-New jammies
-New silverwear
-GT Express 1000 (Yes Nicole…we got one…through a white elephant exchange…got any good recipes?!)

(There are other things…but I won’t list everything.)

-Got to watch The Nativity on Christmas Eve before church…which was amazing. I’d highly recommend it.
-Watched We Are Marshall…also amazing…it’ll be one to buy and keep when the time comes.
-Ate at Avanti’s and Monical’s twice (our favorite Bloomington eateries.)
-Day after Christmas shopping with my mom…got lots of great things for next Christmas!
-Fun trip to IKEA with my mom and Jared…where we got our new bedroom furniture.
-Two trips to see our new niece, Aubrey…who is absolutely beautiful! (Makes me want kids…but not quite yet!)
-Seeing my big brother as a dad for the first time…also very cute.
-Week long marathon of 24, season 4.
-Sleeping in most mornings…until at least 10:00 or so.
-Christmas food…and lots of it!
-Relaxing New Year’s Eve with my mom and Jared…didn’t do much of anything…and it was actually really great.

That’s not all we did…but well…you get the idea. We had a great time away, and I’m not quite sure that I’m ready for work tomorrow morning. I’d call in and stay home, but I have new students showing up tomorrow, and I should probably be there. I’m sure I’ll be excited to be back once I get there! Anyway, hopefully everyone else had a great holiday as well.

Happy 2007!
