Hair-Be-Gone

11.12

It’s been a great weekend. To start to things off…I got my hair chopped off. Not all of it…but quite a bit of it. It’s definitely the shortest my hair has been since I can remember. I absolutely love it though…it makes me feel all funky and very chic. Kudos to my amazing hair guy for the great work he does!

Friday evening I headed home for Lauri’s (my sister-in-law) baby shower. The weather was crazy-go-nuts on the way home, and Jared wasn’t with me (he had praise band practice). I hate driving in crappy weather, but I hate it even more when I’m driving alone. I made it through by listening lots of 80’s music and singing (extremely) loud along with it. The loud singing helped me not to focus so much on the terrential downpour that was engulfing my car. Anyway…I met up with my mom for supper in Springfield. (We had Smokey Bones…mmmmm…BBQ….)….and then I followed her back to Emden.

Saturday I got the chance to sleep in a bit…and then we headed to El Paso for the shower…which was adorable. I can’t wait to meet our new niece! We’re so blessed with an amazing family, and it’s so great to see it grow.

I drove home late Saturday night…got home around 11:00. I was completely wired, so I watched Men In Trees (one of my all-new favorite shows). I figured I’d never get up this morning…but I did. It was actually sunny for once…and the sunshine made waking up that much easier.

Church was great…as always. It was kid’s church today….which is always a nice treat. Watching little kids sing always makes me smile. After church we picked up some new paint for the upstairs bathroom. (Robin’s Egg Blue…with new white trim paint…yay!) However, the best part of the day was a visit with my college roommate, Janet. She was visiting for the weekend, so we got a chance to catch up. (She’s from Arizona…so I don’t get to see her very often.)

Anyway….I need to clean up around the house a bit before I go to bed. Adios!

Weekend-O-Fun

So this weekend I decided to surprise Jared with a trip to St. Louis. We haven’t gone away and just had a weekend to ourselves in awhile. So I made some plans…packed our bags…told Jared to get in the car and not ask questions…and went to St. Louis. (Granted, we don’t live far from the city…but it’s still fun to stay over there once in awhile.) The weekend was full of lots of fun things….

-Crazy movie
-Yummy Pointer’s Pizza
-Red Robin (best burgers ever)
-City Museum (like a huge jungle-gym for adults)
-Plasma tv in our hotel room
-Quality time with my hubby

All in all…it was one great weekend away. We got to visit some new places in the city…and just get away from Greenville.

Yay for great weekend….adios!
