Ready for the Weekend

July 21st, 2006

I’m at work right now…and I probably should be doing something more productive. I’ve already returned all my calls and e-mails…so I’m taking a quick break before moving on to something else. It’s been a pretty normal week so far. I’ve spent most of my evenings at home relaxing and working around the house, which has been great. My mom and grandma are coming to town today, so I cleaned the house last night to get ready for them. I love having visitors! I wish we didn’t live so far from everyone…so then people might be more inclined to come see us. Either way…we’re always excited when someone does make the trip to Greenville. Mom and grandma are going to help get a few more things finished up in our kitchen (we had a couple of drawers left to strip and re-paint). We’re also going to see Les Miserables tomorrow at the Fox…which I am SUPER excited about! Other than Rent…Les Mis is my absolute all-time favorite musical…and seeing anything at the Fox is always amazing. I’m just hoping that mom and grandma love it too! Should make a for a nice girl’s day out. Anyway…I’m going to wrap this up and get on with my work day. Adios!

Eleanor’s sick….

July 12th, 2006

So we took our sweet little Eleanor to the vet today to get her booster shots…and we had them check out her runny nose. They checked her lungs and she’s got a bit of an infection…so no booster shots…and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics to help clear it up. She did such a good job though…she was quiet and sat still for the whole visit! We’re taking her back in 10 days to have another check up and to hopefully get her monthly shots…and Max will get his shots too. So yay…family visit to the Greenville Vet Clinic! Keep little Eleanor in your prayers that her medicine works she gets all better!

New Look for the Basement

July 8th, 2006

So this evening I decided to mix up the basement a bit while Jared’s at Saturday night church playing drums. Earlier this week Jared finally got to order brand new drums. (Something he’s been waiting for a long time to do.) So…I tried to make our little basement area a little more “guy” friendly. So…more rock n’ roll….more Chicago Cubs…and more organized. All we need now are a few more tubs to store extra computer stuff in…and some time to get the ceiling painted white. This once icky basement has a somewhat fancier future in sight!

So hopefully he likes it!

Happy 4th of July!

July 4th, 2006

It’s been raining most of the day. Well, it’s at least been raining since 11:30…as that’s when I woke up. It may not be the perfect 4th of July weather…however, it’s been perfect “I don’t have to work…and I’m going to sleep half of the day” weather. (In my opinion…that’s some awesome weather!) Plans today are to work a little bit around the house…and to finish up any cleaning I didn’t get to over the weekend. I think I might get all domestic at some point and make some cookies or cupcakes or something. (Who am I kidding…I LOVE being domestic!)

We had a great weekend. We got so much stuff around the house…well at least I did. Jared managed to get quite a bit done on his new nascar x-box game. Friday night we (along with the Dugan’s) decided it would be fun to use some of our fireworks that we bought in Indiana (aka: illegal in Illinois). We searched long and hard to find a place to let them off (our yards both have way too many trees). We tried calling friends that live in the country and actually ended up driving around in the middle of nowhere until we found a dead end road and some old hunting lodge in the middle of a cornfield. It was nervewracking…but so much fun! I felt like a high schooler again or something….not that I ever did that in high school. Anyway…it was great. We also managed to catch a firework show at Carlyle lake as well. It was pretty cool….and it was neat to be out at the lake. The gave us 3-D glasses to make our fireworks watching experience more intense I guess. It was cool…and I’m guessing that’s the way fireworks would look if you were on drugs…it made me dizzy.

Anyway…must get back to being lazy and thinking about making cookies. Adios and Happy 4th of July!
