Where art thou drum shop?

March 27th, 2006

So we had a fabulous weekend of relaxing and doing absolutely nothing. Friday night we snuggled up to watch “When Harry Met Sally”….one of my all time favorites. Saturday we slept in until I had to wake up for my hair appointment, but after that I watched tv, did some minor work around the house, and ate snacks all day long. I haven’t had a Saturday like that in quite some time. At first I felt bad for not really doing anything all day…but I got over it pretty quickly. I watched like 100 episodes of “Sell This House” on HGTV….it was awesome…and another indicator that I’m addicted to home decor shows.

As far as Sunday goes…Jared and I had quite the adventure. We got up and went to church…as usual. We had plans to check out this little drum shop that Jared’s been dying to visit. Anyway…he had some directions (lots of twists and turns through St. Louis). So we’re on our way to the shop…and we realize that we’re going the wrong direction…so we get our act together and finally get the right street. We twist and turn around some more…and finally (after what seems like hours) get to this little drum shop. Something was wrong…no cars in the parking lot…no lights on inside….yeah…it was closed. However…the website clearly stated that they were open for 1:00-6:00 on Sundays. After driving around St. Louis for what seemed like an eternity…we find that the stop isn’t even open. Needless to say…we were pretty mad. So…to make it all better….we went to get some scrumtrulescent BBQ at Smokey Bones. Though it didn’t make up for lost time….it did make my tummy full of delicious pulled pork. We stopped by the mall to get my wedding rings inspected (part of some warranty thing we’ve got)….and we stopped to get some groceries on the way home.

It really was a good weekend….full of some wrong turns…some yummy BBQ…lots of HGTV…and sleep….gooood times.

Ummm…you don’t know good BBQ until you eat it in the south. We’ll take you when you come.
