An Update…FINALLY!

admin July 28th, 2005

Ok, so I’ve been a slacker with my blog lately. I can’t help it…I’ve been crazy busy! I’ll give you the scoop on the past few weekends and what I’m up to now. (Hopefully it’s not too overwhelming!)

2 Weekends ago, my friend Jenn and I drove up to Chicago to visit a good friend of ours (Melissa) from college. It was beyond fun! She lives close to down and right off the Redline (for the L)…so we went everywhere and did everything. Ok…so not everything, but pretty close to it! Some highlights of the weekend: sunning on the beach (and getting crazy sunburn), latin dance lessons in Grant Park (yeah!), splashing around in the fountain at Millenium Park, Chicago-style pizza, Cheesecake Factory, Wrigleyville and buying new Cub’s stuff for Jared and I, doing some shopping at vintage stores, fireworks at Navy Pier, Trolley ride, IKEA (I LOVE that place!). Ok…so I could go on and on about that fabulous weekend, but I’m sure you get the picture.

This past weekend was a lot of fun too. I got off work early on Friday and Jared and I headed to St. Louis. We did some shopping and went out for BBQ (one of our favorites). We also went to the Cub/Card game that night. I must be bad luck for our Cubbies, because they always loose when I’m at the games (please no jokes…I’m really starting to like them!) At least they came back and won the rest of series. Yay for grand slams! Saturday night we had another date night. We went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was so good! It was different from the original (which scared the snot out of me as a young child), but it was good. I think I actually liked it better. (Aside from the family sitting in the back of the theatre that didn’t stop laughing the entire time…and felt it necessary to provide commentary for the rest of us as well.)

This week has been crazy busy with work. I’m getting closer and closer to the end of this recruiting cycle, which is super exciting. I can’t wait to see all of the students I’ve recruited on our campus. Tomorrow I’m in charge of transfer registration day. So any student that’s here tomorrow will be mine. It’s crazy, but I’m so excited to see them all in one room. Hopefully all of the planning works out. In other work news, I’m above target with my recruiting goal, so my boss (who gives us incentives) granted me personal use of my college credit card for Jared and I to have a weekend away. So as soon as we can…we’re off to Chicago to have an amazing weekend of Wrigley Field, Cubs, Parks, IKEA and fantasic fun!

Last night I went to Dave and Busters for the first time. Jared and I went with my friend Jenn, her husband and a few other couples. We went in honor of Jenn’s birthday. It was a lot of fun. It’s kind of like an adult’s Chuck-E-Cheese. Needless to say, we got back home around midnight…so now I’m about to doze off at my desk. So I’m off to get some coffee and then back to work I go. More updates later!
