Well Transfer Drive-In Day went off without a hitch. It was so amazing to see all of those students and families here on campus, and to know that I helped get each and every one of them here. I love Greenville College! (Yeah…I know…I’m a crazy admissions counselor.) I’m about ready to head home from work. It looks like it’ll be a good weekend. My mom and dad are coming down from Emden to visit us on Saturday, so I’m super pumped about that. The only bad thing about living far from family, is that most people tend not to visit very often. So come and visit us!
I have to go home and clean up the house. I got most of it cleaned already, just a few dishes to do and some laundry to get started on. I’m sure I’ll have more to post about later. Until then…Adios!

An Update…FINALLY!
07.28
Ok, so I’ve been a slacker with my blog lately. I can’t help it…I’ve been crazy busy! I’ll give you the scoop on the past few weekends and what I’m up to now. (Hopefully it’s not too overwhelming!)
2 Weekends ago, my friend Jenn and I drove up to Chicago to visit a good friend of ours (Melissa) from college. It was beyond fun! She lives close to down and right off the Redline (for the L)…so we went everywhere and did everything. Ok…so not everything, but pretty close to it! Some highlights of the weekend: sunning on the beach (and getting crazy sunburn), latin dance lessons in Grant Park (yeah!), splashing around in the fountain at Millenium Park, Chicago-style pizza, Cheesecake Factory, Wrigleyville and buying new Cub’s stuff for Jared and I, doing some shopping at vintage stores, fireworks at Navy Pier, Trolley ride, IKEA (I LOVE that place!). Ok…so I could go on and on about that fabulous weekend, but I’m sure you get the picture.
This past weekend was a lot of fun too. I got off work early on Friday and Jared and I headed to St. Louis. We did some shopping and went out for BBQ (one of our favorites). We also went to the Cub/Card game that night. I must be bad luck for our Cubbies, because they always loose when I’m at the games (please no jokes…I’m really starting to like them!) At least they came back and won the rest of series. Yay for grand slams! Saturday night we had another date night. We went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was so good! It was different from the original (which scared the snot out of me as a young child), but it was good. I think I actually liked it better. (Aside from the family sitting in the back of the theatre that didn’t stop laughing the entire time…and felt it necessary to provide commentary for the rest of us as well.)
This week has been crazy busy with work. I’m getting closer and closer to the end of this recruiting cycle, which is super exciting. I can’t wait to see all of the students I’ve recruited on our campus. Tomorrow I’m in charge of transfer registration day. So any student that’s here tomorrow will be mine. It’s crazy, but I’m so excited to see them all in one room. Hopefully all of the planning works out. In other work news, I’m above target with my recruiting goal, so my boss (who gives us incentives) granted me personal use of my college credit card for Jared and I to have a weekend away. So as soon as we can…we’re off to Chicago to have an amazing weekend of Wrigley Field, Cubs, Parks, IKEA and fantasic fun!
Last night I went to Dave and Busters for the first time. Jared and I went with my friend Jenn, her husband and a few other couples. We went in honor of Jenn’s birthday. It was a lot of fun. It’s kind of like an adult’s Chuck-E-Cheese. Needless to say, we got back home around midnight…so now I’m about to doze off at my desk. So I’m off to get some coffee and then back to work I go. More updates later!
Chicago!

Ok…I’m so excited. In less than 2 hours I’m off for a weekend in Chicago! My friend Jenn (that I work with) and I are going up to visit a friend of ours from college. She lives downtown…and invited us up for a visit. We’re going to have so much fun! (Sorry…switching into cheesy girl mode!) One of the highlights of the weekend will be taking dance lessons in Grant Park! Yeah! We’re also going to Navy Pier to watch fireworks.
This work day can’t seem to go by quick enough. We’re leaving at 11:00, but it’s still taking forever. It’s been a good week though. Lots of cleaning and relaxing. We’ve actually had time to start cooking decent meals again, which has been great. We grill out all of the time…but I love it! Anyway….I’m too excited….I can’t even concentrate on this silly blog update. So I’m stopping…but I’ll update when I get back. Adios!
Oh…check out our picture page on the website…there’s a few new pictures and more on the way!
We’re not dead!!

Ok, so it’s been way too long since I’ve updated. So I figured it was about time. We’ve been back from Cornerstone for a little under a week now. It was amazing as always. Though we spent lots of time being Admissions Counselors at our booth during the day, we still managed to have a lot of fun. I don’t know what it is about Cornerstone…but I always get giddy about 5 miles away from the main gate. It happened this year, just like always. We put a Supertones cd in and I started to go crazy! (It’s like Cornerstone starts running through my veins for something!) Anyway, we were there for an entire week…which was awesome. We camped in our usual spot. (Next to a hose…so we could wash our hair!) One of the best parts of the week was getting to speak on mainstage. Yes, that’s right, yours truly got to talk about good ol’ Greenville College in front of thousands of people on mainstage! It was so exciting! They yelled and screamed for me too…it was unbelievable. We got to meet a lot of bands while we were there too. We went backstage several times with Prof. Young (he’s from Greenville too). The best had to be meeting Toby Mac…he’s so nice! (I miss DC Talk…is that wrong!?) Another great part of the week was our decision to support a World Vision Child in Africa. We’ve been wanting to for quite some time, but were waiting for God to give us an “ok”. Well…we got the ok and went for it. We chose an amazing little girl named Jacquie, and we couldn’t be more excited. Even though we don’t have much money, it’s great to know that we’re helping someone else. Anyway, it really was an awesome week. It always amazes me to see so many Christians in one place, all there to worship and lift up God. (If you’ve never gone…you should go!) This week we’ve basically been trying to clean the house and get everything put away from the trip. Last night our sink pipe broke in the midst of doing dishes, so we’re hoping our landlord can come and help get that fixed. Anywho…I’m off to keep on cleaning on! Adios!
