Back to my blog…at last. It’s been a crazy past few days. New Student Orientation came and went…and it was a blast. It was so much fun to see all those new faces on campus and know that I helped get them here. On Saturday (after I got off work) Jared and I headed to Emden where we stayed over at my parents house. It was fun to be in Emden, even if it was just for the night. My mom has gone crazy with home renovation projects since the wedding. My old room is the home to many Star Wars toys and mom’s craft projects. My nephews love staying up there when they visit. Downstairs mom has repainted the whole house in fun new colors, put up new curtains, refinished the wood floors and has planned out the new furniture she wants to get. New furniture is great. Normally I’d be upset that she got new furniture after I left…but this means that Jared and I get the old couches…which are soooo comfy! Needless to say, my parent’s house is looking pretty spiffy! Sunday we went to church at Vale, ate at Monical’s with my parents and stopped by Jared’s mom’s house to get some of his stuff out of his old room. Jared also got a haircut…yay! I spent some time at Bergner’s…where I bought cute office clothes. I love cute office clothes…wearing suits is really starting to grow on me. (Especially when I get cute new shoes and accessories to go with them!) Anywho…I’ll end this here. I’m at work and should be working on travel seasons plans. So I’m gonna go do that. More updates later…adios!

Well, New Student Orientation is almost here…and the office is crazy! It’s really weird seeing students come back to campus…knowing that I’m no longer a student. No more dorm life for me. No more classes with Dr. Jackson. No more midnight ice cream runs with my roommates. No more all-nighter’s with my roommates, watching such movies as “Josie and Pussycats” and “Bubbleboy.” It’s really starting to sink in that I’m growing up. I’m totally happy about being married and moving on though…it’s just weird to think about sometimes. I know that I can totally count on Jared to take me for ice cream at odd hours of the night, and to let me watch silly movies with him, and to even stay up talking with me all night. It’s a great new phase in my life…but like I said…sometimes it’s hard to let go. On a positive note…this means no more mid-terms, finals, thesis writinng etc. Well, until I go back to Grad. School to get my Master’s. Anywho…I’m about to leave work. Gotta pack up the laptop and go make my hubby some food. Tonight is laundry night….oh boy! (ha) I need to get some sleep before the crazy weekend of incoming freshmen gets here. I slept for like 13 hours lastnight…what’s up with that?! Fell alseep at 7:00 on the couch…woke up at 10:30, washed face, climbed into bed, said goodnight to Jared, and there I slept until 8:10 this morning. Maybe the mono’s coming back to get me….but I won’t let it! Take that stupid mono! Ok…seriously…I’m ending this now…gotta go. Adios!

Wow…what a long weekend! Friday was work and then I went straight to the wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal was cool, supper was good, and the DQ afterwords was superb! I’d like to recommend the Brownie Batter Blizzard to all other chocolate lovers. It’s the best ever! After all of that, the bridesmaids went back to Nicole’s apartment to hang out with spend the night with her. Lucky me…Nicole’s wish for the night was to watch the ever fabulous “Miss Logan County Fair Pageant” of 2001. (For those who don’t know…I was a contestant that year.) So yeah…there we sat, watching me and my big pageant hair prance around on a stage in 3 inch taupe-colored heels and a bright green swimsuit…along with other fancy ensembles. It’s always fun to watch. Saturday was extremely relaxed and the wedding and reception were wonderful. It was really weird to be a part of a wedding that wasn’t mine. I’m still in this newlywed bride stage…where I think I should still be planning a wedding or something. Either way, it was a lot of fun being the bridesmaid after having gone through the whole bride thing myself. After the reception, the hubby and I helped Nicole’s mom and dad pick up at Ethan’s Place and we moved all of the presents and such back to her apartment. It was a crazy-mad amoung of stuff to move…but it had to be done. It was really nice to help out. Yesterday we took back the tuxes from the wedding. Apparently nobody else was going to Fairview Heights…so Jared and I got the lovely task of taking back all of the tuxes. Luckily Aaron, another groomsman, was willing to take half of them. We also saw “The Village” yesterday. That movie was awesome!! I love M. Night Shyalaman’s films…his twists are incredible. Anywho…I’m gonna get back to work now. I’m super tired and my tummy feels icky…but back to work I must go. Adios!

Wow, this has been the longest day EVER! I’ve been sitting here in my office since 9:00 this morning, and I seriously don’t think I’ve done one productive thing all day long. Becca and Brian got to our apartment around 1:00 a.m. this morning. It was sooo great to see them! We ended up talking with them for another hour or so before we finally realized that we needed to get some sleep. So by 2:30 or so, we finally got to bed. Faculty and Staff retreat starts tonight, but I have to miss it because of Nicole and Jason’s wedding. The rehearsal is tonight and the wedding’s tomorrow. I’m just uber stoked that some of our friends will be around. I’m also excited for all of the free food. I heart food, especially the cupcakes that are in our fridge at the apartment. I must say, rainbow chip frosting is a gift from God! Anyway, I’m going to finish this up here. I need to make a few more phone calls to prospective students and then it’s off the rehearsal. I’m a bridesmaid…I get to wear purple….wooha. More to come later.

So today begins a string of days that will be uber crazy. I work, of course, all day until like 5:00 or 5:30. At which point Jared and I will flee to the land of Fairview Heights to pick up his tux for a wedding that we’re both in this weekend. We’re also planning on going to a theatre down there to see “The Village”. I’m really excited about seeing it. We’ve wanted to see it for awhile now…but then my car died…and well, Jared’s car…it just doesn’t go all the time. So yay, we’re going to see it tonight…finally! Oh…Becca and Brian are coming to our apartment tonight at midnight! They’re in the wedding this weekend too…so they’re staying with us for a few days! I’m soooo excited!! People never stop by anymore…perhaps married people have some sort of strange disease that I am not yet aware of. Either way…they’re married too…so they must be immune. I’m going to get back to work now. Adios!

Here I am, sucked into the world of blog. I was about to sign up at xanga, but then my super-cool hubby made me my very own blog! He’s the bestest. Anywho, I’m at work right now. I work in the fabulous land of Admissions at Greenville College. I’m an admissions counselor with a super-sweet corner office (minus the view). It’s lots of fun. Little by little I’m making it my very own. I slapped up some cool Beatles pictures on the walls and I’m going to paint in here in a few weeks. I guess I should probably be working, since I get paid salary now. Hopefully I’ll keep this here blog up to date…and you can check back and see what’s up with me. Toodles!
